TYPE
OF GRAPE: Grauvernatsch,
Tschaggelevernatsch ("Meraner Kurtraube" used for a special
grape-cure performed in Merano), Mittervernatsch, "G'schlafene",
hardly any Großvernatsch and only a few Edelschwarze.
CHARACTERISTIC FEATURES:
light ruby and with a fruity strong bouquet. Fresh and distinctive
taste. Only few tannins and a slight bitter almond taste, which
is typical for wines grown in the region around the Lago de
Caldaro lake. Dry.
AVERAGE AGE OF GRAPES:
70 years. Only completely damaged grapes are replaced by new
ones.
ORIGIN: the Panholzerhof
property, situated on the western banks of the Lago de Caldaro,
235-270 m above seal level.
MICROCLIMATE: very warm,
protected against cold winds from the.
HARVEST: yield per hectare

CONSUMING TEMPERATURE:
15 - 17 °C
TO RECOMMEND WITH: starters,
bacon, assorted cold meats, grilled or roasted white meat and
mild cheese.
